Frequently Asked Questions
You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers. If the common
questions below don’t help, reach out to us.
Nope! All you need is a valid driver’s license. The Slingshot is classified as an Auto-Cycle, so no special license is needed in Florida, or any of the surrounding states.
Basic full-face Helmets are provided for the driver and a passenger at no additional charge. You are required to wear them when you drive the Slingshot out of our warehouse, but after that it depends on local laws.
We recommend always wearing a helmet (safety first)!
Yes, all Slingshots are 5-speed manuals from the factory. However, we offer classes to teach you how to drive a manual, so you will be ready for your next rental.
As for why no automatic transmissions are offered from the factory, that’s a good question for Polaris. However, we at Clearwater Slingshot think that driving a manual is a lot more fun than driving an automatic!
You can drive as much as you want. The miles are unlimited.
Yes, we want you to spend your time riding and having fun cruising on the road, so you will start off with a full tank, but we ask that you fill up when you bring it back to us.
Our vehicles are available to drivers 25 and older. All renters are required to use our insurance. Insurance costs are $15 per day, and all drivers and riders are required to sign our liability waiver and rental agreement.
Also, a $500 credit card authorization is required to take the slingshot out. This is not a charge, but an authorization. So when the slingshot is brought back without damage it will never have been charged.
We do not offer delivery of Slingshots at this time, but delivery might be possible upon request. Please call to see if it is available in your area!
Due to high demand, we currently only offer 24 hour rentals. Exceptions might be made during off-peak times, so please feel free to call us with any questions.
